This being said, one of my younger kids fell off the swing recently (gravity always wins!) and came running to me for comfort. Fortunately it was a minor scratch- one that would barely slow them down otherwise, but they were caught up in fear and were crying for a Band Aid so they could go inside and get away from that bad ol’ swing.
I tenderly reassured them that they didn’t NEED a Band Aid and invited them to try the swing again. This was met with much resistance…finally I wiped away tears, looked them square in the eyes and explained that “Band Aids are for when we are bleeding, but fear has no home in a heart where God dwells.”
I’m not sure how much of that they understood- but they were back on the swing in no time… 2Tim 1:7
